composite ie. reinforced plastic is heavier and does not have the structural strength of plywood ie. a wood laminate composite . the coosa composite is foam with reinforcing and is lighter than plywood but does not have its strength. i would prefer a marine grade plywood that was completely covered with an epoxy coat.

bought it to replace seats in my small boat and the transom. the span on the seats was 32 inches. original seats were three-quarter inch plywood. coosa board definitely has more flex than three-quarter inch plywood i had to put braces under the seats. overall product is good, no more rot. painted to seal in fiberglass.

but even the marine grade plywood will go one day and at $95 per sheet locally here , i'm looking at a big nut to crack.the toon in question is a 24' by the way so thats in the $600 range.if i could get something for that much or less and never have to replace it again , thats the way i'd go.the thing with the composite decking is the cracks.i'd have to layer the top with vinyl flooring and then carpet maybe , or just silicone it like the regular decking would be.one thing is for sure , it
